True meaning of Christmas

This year Justin and I got to spend Christmas with Justin's brother, Josh and his family. It was so much fun. It was amazing how excited ALL the kids got about EVERYTHING Santa brought them. It was hard not to get lost in all the child-like enthusiasm and excitement of the morning. Charly, the baby, had more fun eating the wrapping paper than anything else. It was very adorable! I think the highlight of the morning was when Tori pulled a handful of pony-tails out of her stocking, stood up and started shouting "PONYTAILS! MOMMY LOOK I GOT PONYTAILS!!" She was so excited about ponytails, it was so cute! She reminded me that it is the little things in life that I need to be thankful for, that it is ok to get excited about 'pony-tails'. We really did have a wonderful Christmas!

And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.

I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair. I hate the way you drive my car. I hate it when you stare. I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind. I hate you so much it makes me sick; it even makes me rhyme. I hate it, I hate the way you're always right. I hate it when you lie. I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry. I hate it that you're not around, and the fact that you didn't call. But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you. Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away.
